Welcome to the Bliss Weddings Blog.

Well a Big Hello to you, its lovely to see you.

I am Katie and since 2010 I have been Planning & Co-ordinating Weddings.

In February 2014 I put my planning skills to good use when I got married myself to my lovely husband Ben. We got married 10 years to the day since our journey began - so as you can imagine I had set myself a big big challenge but I did pull it off even if I do say so myself.

So after a little bit of time away I am now back here to share the delights of all things Wedding. Regular features will be Honeymoon Hotspot, Wedding Venues, Pop the Questions, Soppy Sundays, Real Weddings plus much more as the blog goes on.

AND I am planning on sharing my Wedding experience with you all too.

So enjoy, come back soon and why not get in touch blissweddings@outlook.com

Real Weddings: Lucille & Peter's Wedding at The Windmill Hotel London by White Ribbons Photography

Hello and it is Wednesday. Hopefully you haven't been blown away by the aftermath of the hurricane which is set to hit the UK! Fingers crossed we all get to see today's Wedding before anything happens in the form of a natural disaster.

Today we are in London with the Wedding of Lucille and Peter who were married in Wandsworth Register Office followed by a Reception at The Windmill Hotel. I am sure you will agree it all looks rather fabulous and from my Mancunian eyes this looks like a gem of a venue!

So lets get on with the Wedding...

All images (and words) courtesy of White Ribbons Photography, more work can be viewed here on their blog and website.

Enjoy

Blessed with a sunny day I begin photographing Lucille and Peter wedding as I often do meeting the bride well before the ceremony to record those special moments that make the prep so much fun to shoot. About half an hour before the ceremony we all jumped into a cab towards the Wandsworth register office where a lovely ceremony of about half an hour took place making sure not to stand in front of camera that was showing live the ceremony to the other side of the globe where Peter’s family who couldn’t attend the wedding in person was watching. At the end of the ceremony after the traditional confetti shot we all jumped on to a special wedding double decker bus  and drove to the Windmill Hotel where the reception was held. A truly lovely wedding day

Real Weddings: Tom & Julio's Wedding at Chelsea Town Hall, London by Mavric Photography

Hi-di-hi readers. I do hope your week is going well. Ready for a lovely Wedding?

Today we go on a trip to Chelsea Town Hall where Tom and Julio were married and the day was captured by the talented Kirsten at Mavric Photography. Two very handsome and seemingly happy men were married.

All images are courtesy of Mavric Photography - to see more work please visit the website and blog here.

I struggle to put into words how I felt yesterday, watching Tom and Julio getting married at Chelsea Town Hall. They are now married, not in a civil partnership, in a proper lovely marriage.  Surrounded by dear friends and family who had travelled long distances to see this happen, some of whom only landed at Heathrow two hours before the ceremony, they radiated happiness all day.
Once it was all official, a glorious tea party was held at Number 16 Sumner Place, part of the Firmdale group of gorgeous small London hotels.  This is a just a little preview of the day.  More to come in the next few weeks.

The last shot in this post really sums up for me why I believe this is the best job in the world.  I’m so happy that I will get to spend more time with these two, and their wonderful friends and family, when they do it all over again on Saturday in Essex!

Real Weddings: Jenny & Harris' Wedding at Dartmouth House by Bernard Pretorius Photography

Hello and Wednesday once again is upon us. You may have noticed that Wednesday's mean a trip to our capital for another Real Wedding installment. Today I bring you the delights of Dartmouth House and also the creativity behind the lens that is Bernard Pretorius Photography.

I am very excited about this Wedding, I love lots of things about this Wedding, I love a Groom in a bow tie, I love a grand old staircase to show off a lovely dress, I also love a good London Wedding.

So lets go on a Wedding journey with Bernard Pretorius Photography- why not take a look at more work here.

In the heart of London’s Mayfair is the stunning building of Dartmouth House. This is where Jenny and Harris spent their wedding day with their wonderful family and friends, and unlike their pre-wedding shoot we were blessed with warm, sunny weather with plenty of blue sky to go around.
I first met up with Harris and his mates in the Only Running Footman down the road where they all gathered for a beer and a bit of chatter and jokes before the ceremony. The groom totally looked the part in his midnight-blue suit and bow tie, with the rest of the guys all suited and booted. At the other end of the road Jenny was getting ready in the Chesterfield hotel. When I met up with her make-up artist Yiannis just finished his final touches, and hair stylist Inga was busy doing her thing. The girls all seemed to be relaxed and enjoying some champagne and giggles, whilst Jenny was helped into her dress by her lovely cousin.
Harris waited nervously in the Churchill room for his bride. With the doors remaining shut as Jenny and her dad walked up the beautiful marble staircase and waited for the big entrance. Jenny was truly the center of attention as she walked into the room with her beautifully, elegant Emma Victoria Payne bridal gown. As the bride and groom saw each other , there was no mistaking about their love for each other – their faces told their love story with one loving look.
Their day continued to be filled with emotion, tears and laughter throughout all the readings and speeches. And as stories about them as a couple and as individuals were shared, it was glaringly obvious that these two were destined for each other. Following a lovely hearty meal it was time to head back over to the Churchill room for their first dance – a dance that they had choreographed, practised and executed with perfection and lots of smiles.
Being part of their day and capturing their Dartmouth House wedding photography was not just a privilege, but incredibly fun effortless. Congratulations again guys – may you have many, many years of happiness ahead of you!
